The inquiry is based on translocal and transtemporal\u003cbr\u003eethnographic fieldwork conducted in 2004-2011 in the flood-prone\u003cbr\u003ecity of Santa Fe in Argentina. The study examines how past flooding\u003cbr\u003eis remembered by flood victims in the middle- and low-income\u003cbr\u003edistricts and by activists of the protest movement that emerged in\u003cbr\u003ethe wake of the 2003 flood. It deals with flood memory in the local\u003cbr\u003ebureaucracy, in local historiography, myths and popular culture. The\u003cbr\u003eanalysis reveals that the Santafesinian flood memoryscape is dynamically\u003cbr\u003econfigured by evocative, reminiscent and commemorative\u003cbr\u003emodes of remembering, which are expressed in multiple forms, ranging\u003cbr\u003efrom memorials and rituals to bureaucratic documents, infrastructure\u003cbr\u003eand everyday practices.
