{"product_id":"strawberry-moon","title":"Strawberry Moon","description":"An atmospheric Málaga private investigator mystery in which an apparent double suicide refuses to add up. Mediterranean crime fiction about closed communities, official indifference and a detective who challenges the official story. An atmospheric Málaga mystery of forbidden relationships, buried truths, and a detective willing to challenge the official story. Two young lovers are found dead near a Málaga beach, but JD doesn’t believe they took their own lives. On Midsummer’s Eve, the bodies of two young gypsies are found in a solitary spot near a beach in Málaga. It looks like a double suicide—a lovers’ pact to end it all—and the police are quick to close the case. But Jacaranda Dunne, a female private investigator known to everyone as JD, thinks otherwise. When a cousin of the dead girl asks JD to investigate, he tells her the young man was gay and the girl was pregnant—both reasons to despair when you are a gypsy, but not to commit suicide. The investigation proves more difficult than usual. JD and her team face resistance from the gypsy community and little cooperation from a recalcitrant Guardia Civil commander. At first there seems to be no motive for killing the two young people, but gradually some unpleasant truths begin to emerge. Strawberry Moon is Book 3 in The Jacaranda Dunne Mysteries series. Perfect for readers who love atmospheric crime fiction, female private investigators, rule-breaking detectives, and mysteries by Sue Grafton, Sara Paretsky, and Robert Galbraith. Praise for the The Jacaranda Dunne Mysteries series:? ? ? ? ? Even at the end, once the crime has been solved, we are left wanting more. ? ? ? ? ? Can’t wait to read what’s next. ? ? ? ? ? Scary to think of modern day slavery…? ? ? ? ? We are kept guessing as to the means and motive behind the crime. ? ? ? ? ? It truly kept me glued to the book.","brand":"Vinci Books","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":59025635901775,"sku":"9781036738785","price":16.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/www.suomalainen.com\/products\/strawberry-moon","provider":"Suomalainen.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
