Frishman, a non-Zionist Hebrew writer, foresaw the decline of these regional Hebrew alternatives in post–World War I Europe and amid the growing Jewish-Arab conflict in the Land of Israel\/Palestine. Written in the wake of October 7, 2023, and the Gaza-Israel war, the book reflects on the loss of these alternatives, that left Hebrew literature to develop in a separatist nationalism and regional isolation.
